Then I opened WMP 11 and clicked on Tools-->Options-->Devices-->Speakers. I feel the same way as you do about this pre-mature release of vista. (YOU ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT THE PRICE ISSUE)... This feature is not available right now. This problem crops up only when installing skype or similar software which changes the default audio output device to communication device (instead of speaker). Nothing is muted and all volume is maximum. what shud i do to fix this problem?
