Nope, Amarok2 is tons more powerful and faster, but if people think Songbird is some kind of revolution then it's sad, it's a iTunes clone and a bad on at that. It also helps to recreate what you were doing, with the same files, to see if you can reliably crash Amarok. I exited Firefox and Songbird kept on playing without missing a beat. in them. navigate to this website
This is much 1. Now as regards most of the features the guys mentioned here, I don't care much about either of them (unsophisticated person that I am!!). But it handles every CD as a different album. I really loved Banshee, but couldn't get past gstreamer and the lack of crossfade and gapless playback...
Some of the things are.. It's kind of totally awesome, actually, to have people pick up a project and port it like that. Please write to the Amarok list or stop by IRC if you have such a device to donate. I just wish that Songbird would minimize to the tray...

That is very critical thing what Amarok should get fixed, that album is not same thing as the CD. I'm missing some of the features I loved and used the most. Things are progressing nicely and by design 4.x marks a big step forward for Amarok imo, it just isn't all there in implementation yet. You can force it down there via alltray, but right-clicking the icon doesn't give you Play/Pause/Next/Back options like in Amarok.
