That would've been easier. I found some low-voltage wire for the null-modem cable (it might've been doorbell wire), and snagged some plans for the wiring from that new-fangled Google. The boot floppy might have a CD driver on it which will handle the soundcard CD interface without having to load the Sound Blaster software. (Assuming it is a Soundblaster). Most current CMOS setup programs can auto-detect the hard drive's geometry, so you usually will not have to input the drive parameters (cylinders, heads, and sectors).
